Satpura Tiger Reserve is located within the Satpura Range of the Himalayas in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Combined with the neighbouring Bori and Panchmarhi Sanctuaries it covers 1427 square kilometres. The terrain here is extremely rugged and consists of sandstone peaks, narrow gorges, ravines and dense forests and here you will find three entrances namely Madai gate, Kajri gate from Pachmarhi and last the Anarpani gate. There is an abundance of wildlife to spot here as well as numerous activities to participate in and lodges to relax after a long day of game spotting. Satpura National Park was set up in 1981 and contained 524 square kilometres of beautiful, unspoiled natural landscapes. It is one of the least known and least visited parks in India.

Just like any other national parks of Madhya Pradesh, Jungle Safari system of Satpura National Park is similar. Here 4-wheel driven vehicles (petrol/diesel) are used to park-safari. Here no vehicle of more that 5-years old is allowed to go for park-safari. Park entrance charges and guide fee is similar to any other national park of Madhya Pradesh. Jeeps are generally hired from market in Pachmarhi or through hotels.

One can reach Bhopal, Jabalpur or Nagpur by air from any of the major cities in India.
From Bhopal, Jabalpur and Nagpur, one can reach Piparia or Itarsi by train on the Bombay-Howrah Route.
Pachmarhi is 52 km. away from Piparia by road. The nearest bus station to Pachmarhi is five kilometres away. You can also drive up to Neemghan through the Panarpani gate, which is close to Pachmarhi.
