Manas National Park is situated on the foothills of the Himalayas and a part of it extends to Bhutan. It was declared a sanctuary on October 01, 1928 and was designated a World Heritage site in December 1985. The sanctuary is home to a great variety of wildlife, including tiger, Golden Langur, Wild Buffalo, Hispid Hare, Pigmy Hog, Capped Langur, Indian one-horned Rhinoceros, Elephant, Gaur, Hog Deer, etc. Manas known for its Project Tigers, Rhinos & Elephants, and is Assam's one of the two Tiger projects. The scenic beauty and rare wealth of wild life combine with this unique world heritage site to offer one of the most enthralling experiences.

Manas national park provides protection to the aggressive creatures like tigers, elephants, rhinos, wild buffaloes, leopards, clouded leopards and rare black panthers. Some other animals found in the park are gaurs, swamp deer, capped langurs, golden langurs, assamese macaques, slow loris, hoolock gibbons, smooth Indian otters, sloth bears, barking deer, hog deer, sambar and chital. Two highly endangered species in the park include the hispid hare and the pygmy hog.
The camp is located at Kokilabari, close to the eastern core area of the Manas National Park. The MMES(Manas Maozigendri Ecotourism Society) runs this community-cum-cnoservation project.
It is the only private hotel close to the entrance of the Manas National Park. The hotel has to offer 24 double rooms. The rooms are well equipped and a stay here can prove to be quite promising.
Entry fee to the park is to paid at Bansbari range office, located 1 km from the entry gate at Baripada. Entry fee is Rs. 20 for Indians and Rs. 250 for foreigners. Park timings are 5:30 AM to 6:30 PM everyday. The Makibana area in Bhuyan para is considered ideal for tiger and other striped predators sighting. Safari timings are 5:30 to 10 AM and 2:30 to 5:30 PM.

Manas National Park is 176 km from Guwahati. The nearest airport is Borjhar, which is situated, 5 km out of town, and can be reached by rickshaw, auto rickshaw or airline buses.
The nearest railhead is situated at Barpeta road.
Buses regularly ply from Guwahati to Barpeta Road in 4½ hrs.
