17 Tigers Died in 6 States This Year, Says Government
NEW DELHI: At least two tigers fell prey to poachers as 17 of the big cats died in six states this year, the government said today. Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar told the Rajya Sabha that out of the total 17 tiger deaths, two cases are of poaching while 14 are under scrutiny and one is from other causes. Public opinion sought on eco-zone of tiger reserve in Maharashtra
New Delhi: The Environment Ministry has sought public comments on whether to declare an area up to 12 km from the boundary of the Navegaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve (NNTR) in Maharashtra as eco-sensitive zone. NEW DELHI: The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has accorded final approval to two national parks for being declared as tiger reserves, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
